Because I watched S2 of Avatar on the plane and my head literally almost exploded with the awesome (I kept waking brother to make him watch clips that made me laugh like a hyena), expect a pimp post as soon as I'm done with jet lag.

Oh, man, S2 of AtLA is some of the best television ever - the run of episodes from "The Blind Bandit" on through the end of the season is just... incredibly awesome.

And you're right. It's really interesting that a show about Aang is much more about the other people in his life. And about their growth and their coming together as a team.

I just watched Tales of Ba Sing Se and Apa's Lost Days and I was honestly almost teary. APA. APA AND MOMO'S EPIC FRIENDSHIP.

Zuko's stupid character development happening slowly and realistically! Iroh. IROH FOREVER WITH HIS TEA SHOP AND HIS GRIEF.

In between the fierce women, awesome worldbuilding, the fact that they had a conversation about bears (A platypus bear? A wolf bear? An otter bear? No, just a bear. This city is SO LAME.) and the fact that Aang is just so charming.

Oh, Iroh. I cry so hard every time. At least we get some funny with Sokka's haiku battle.

Toph is awesome! It took me a while to warm up to her, but once they hit the Library, I was sold. She held it up with her tiny fists! She was so upset at not being able to save Appa. Oh, Toph.

SOKKA IS THE IDEA MAN. THE IDEA MAN AND THE COMPLAINING MAN AND HE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH THAT.

Iroh is totally Zukko's heart and soul and it's amazing and believable that after his son's death he'd become who he is.

I love that this show lets women have relationships or not have relationships. Like Toph and Katara aren't bffs until they BECOME friends.

AND KATARA BECOMING THE MOST BADDASS WATERBENDER EVER. And it's clear that it's because she works hard at it and learns and works HARD.
