The thing is, I recently had to un-subscribe from the Shakesville RSS feed because it was exhausting being so righteously angry all the time. There's nowhere to go with the anger that I get after reading a lot of Shakesville articles. There's no way to make the GOP stop their class-war-inducing, women-hating legislation.
Sometimes Shakesville makes me feel like I'm listening to a liberal FOX news. And it makes my real anger burn softer, I don't get really angry about things any more, just righteously indignant.
This, whether miscommunication (more likely) or attempted publicity (less likely, if only because the internet turns very quickly) doesn't make me angry. It just makes me sad and leaves me with another list of books I probably should read and probably will never get around to.
I'm unemployed right now and if there's anything to make you feel genuinely helpless, genuinely awful, it's applying and applying and applying and never getting a single call or email back. It's doing everything right - the right education, the right experience, the right credentials and not getting a job.
*hands* I'm not saying that these aren't important issues, but I just don't have the energy.
